After so many months of depressing news from the media about the economy, it's nice to hear something bright and optimistic. The Mercury News is reporting that while California faces a long recovery, Silicon Valley is gaining strength and many top players in the high-tech industry are seeing stronger earnings.
"The University of California-Los Angeles economists said the valley's exports are growing; infusions
of capital from a federal stimulus package and investments in technology will combine to pull the region, and high tech in general, out of recession faster than much of the state. Silicon Valley's economy is expected to gather strength late this year, they said."
